In the middle of Ekini Market there is a fishing spot where parents and children can enjoy something unique to Hakodate: taking up a fishing pole to fish for live squid brought in from the seas near Hakodate. The squid you catch can be butchered and eaten on the spot, offering an unrivalled experience of freshness!
But please be careful, as the squid may fight back. If you purchase seafood at the market, you can have it prepared for you at Asaichi shokudo nibankan on the second floor of the market.
